I was invited to participate in an art show dedicated to trees, which inspired me to create a tree sculpture. This experience allowed me to explore various shapes and colors.

“More Precious Than a Gem” SOLD
26.5” H x 10”W x 10”D
Welded Steel, Bronze with Stained Glass, Unique

I have had collectors say, “This doesn’t look like your work.” However, if you look closely, you will see the triangular shapes, flat planes, and textures present in previous work. I am enjoying expanding my subject matter and utilizing new materials to express myself through sculpture.

10% of sales will be donated to Trees for the Future, an NPO that trains farmers in agroforestry and sustainable land use. Please see: Trees.org

“Arabesque”
28”H x 22”W x 22”D
Brazed bronze over welded steel with brass leaves, Unique (1 REMAINS)

“Arabesque” was inspired by the transition of trees from autumn to winter. Some trees stretch upward gracefully, their branches slender and smooth, while others twist and turn with craggy, irregular forms. Limbs may angle gently from the trunk at 30 to 45 degrees or jut sharply at nearly 90. Their bark varies widely - some smooth and pale, others coarse, dark, and deeply textured. A few leaves are reluctant to fall to the ground.

Observing trees in winter at sunset or after a fresh snowfall is my favorite time. The evening light or the snow highlights the angles, textures, and negative spaces between branches, revealing the character and individuality of each tree.
